Your captain Eric Stirrup has worked onboard vessels in the Bering Sea, Gulf of Alaska, and Eastern Pacific since 1979. Moving to Kodiak in 1984, I entered the charter business as a deck hand working up to captain by 1987. By late 1989 I entered a partnership, purchasing the Ten Bears from the original owner. Becoming the sole owner in 1998 after the death of my friend and partner.


Many of our repeat cliental have made some or most of this journey with me.

Sally joined the crew in late 1994 and has been with the crew every summer since. Her fantastic ability to juggle the galley keeping everyone fed is no small task.

But, her cooking skills should not be overshadowed by her fishing skills. She has racked up several world records for halibut and lingcod, the most difficult being her 88# Halibut on 6# test. Her fishing passion though focusses on those big shiny king salmon.
